Laura Lefever
Director of Community Partnerships and Projects is a native of Detroit and a graduate of Detroit Public Schools and Wayne State University with a BS in Criminal Justice. When asked, Laura will tell you that her professional home is with The Children’s Center, where she has worked with children and families for the past 27 years. Throughout her career at The Children’s Center, Laura has had the opportunity to be involved with serval programs such as Home Base services, coordinating hospital and residential services for children requiring specialized care, 21st Century Afterschool program and as director of TCC’s Head Start program for 5 years. Laura currently serves as the President of the Detroit Affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Health. Laura has recently begun a bi-monthly podcast #RealTalk about Children’s Mental Health discussing everything that is mental health for TCC. The highlight of Laura’s personal life are her two wonderful granddaughters, who are the loves of her life.
